Warriors only 5-point favorites over the Rockets in Game 2

Warriors

The Golden State Warriors will open Game 2 of their second-round series against the Houston Rockets as only a 5-point favorite, per BetOnline.ag.

Golden State had a hard time against the Rockets in Game 1, a match marred with controversy and questions about officiating. The Dubs eventually won 104-100, but they never led by more than double-digits throughout the contest.

The Warriors’ biggest lead is a nine-point advantage, which they got at the end of the first period. The Rockets outscored them in two of the remaining three quarters, though that was not enough to propel the Houston team to a rare road victory.

Head coach Steve Kerr and his Warriors lost two home games against the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round — including a 31-point meltdown in Game 2 of the said series — so it’s not surprising to see them as only 5-point favorites against the Rockets even though they are still playing at Oracle Arena.

Houston really need a win in Game 2 to erase the Warriors’ homecourt advantage and even the series at 1-1 before heading back to Clutch City. With that said, James Harden, Chris Paul and Co. are expected to come out with more intensity and aggressiveness this time around.
