Warriors’ Draymond Green elbows Rockets’ James Harden 1 minute into Game 1

Draymond Green, James Harden

The Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors tipped off Game 1 of their Western Conference Finals series, and things got heated, well, fast.

Guard James Harden scored five quick points for the Rockets on a three-pointer followed by a layup over a defending Kevin Durant. After landing from the made layup, Harden turned and happened to run right into Warriors’ forward Draymond Green. For some reason, Green angrily then shoved his elbow into Harden’s neck/chin area, moving him backwards past the baseline towards the basket stanchion.

Green was immediately assessed a technical foul by referee Scott Foster and after review, the call on the floor was confirmed. Harden made the technical free throw, and then made another three-pointer on the Rockets ensuing possession, giving him the first nine Houston points.
