Warriors coach Steve Kerr happy with 2-0 lead vs. Rockets, but expects tougher test in Houston

Warriors, Rockets, Steve Kerr

The Golden State Warriors are up 2-0 against the Houston Rockets, but head coach Steve Kerr knows Games 3 and 4 in Houston are going to be tough.

The Warriors took care of business and won Games 1 and 2 at Oracle Area. Now, the Dubs will look to wrap up the series in four games by winning Games 3 and 4 at the Toyota Center.

Kerr, though, says the Warriors aren’t taking the Rockets lightly.

“When you have home court, if you can get the first two, it puts you in good shape, with the awareness that you’re just getting started,” Kerr said, via Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area. “Nothing has happened yet. We’ve got to go down to Houston and be ready to play because we know how good they are, we know how hard they’re going to play.”

The Rockets were 31-10 at home during the regular season. They’re 3-0 during the postseason. The Warriors, meanwhile, are 3-0 on the road in the playoffs. Game 3 figures to be a good one, as the Rockets are going to be playing like a desperate team.

Through the first two games of the series, the Rockets have had no answer for Warriors superstar Kevin Durant. KD is averaging 32.0 points while shooting 42.6 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from beyond the arc.
