Warriors are disappointed James Harden isn’t playing

The Golden State Warriors will miss the opportunity to play a full-strength Houston Rockets tonight, as James Harden has to sit out the game due to a cervical strain.

And it seems that the Dubs aren’t happy about it.

Most teams will be happy to play the Rockets without James Harden, but not the Warriors. They obviously want to be tested, and aside from the Sacramento Kings, Houston is the only team this season that has given them a run for their money.

Also, it is important for DeMarcus Cousins to be able to understand what the Rockets’ offensive system is with Harden on the court, as both teams are once again expected to meet in this year’s playoffs. Cousins will have that opportunity in March, when the Dubs visit Houston.

Harden is believed to have suffered his injury in the Rockets’ 111-106 loss against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday. He is listed as day-to-day, but he isn’t expected to miss a significant amount of time. He could be back with the team within the next week.

With Harden out, Chris Paul and Clint Capela are expected to carry the load for Houston. Both players have recently returned from the injuries they suffered over the past month.

Houston will be going up against the a Golden State team who have only two games since January 4 — the date that they lost to Houston in overtime.

Harden had a triple double in that game with 44 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds. He’s also the one who hit the game winner to seal the Rockets’ 135-134 win.
