VIDEO: Warriors star Stephen Curry’s 30-foot bomb on Christian Wood gives him new career mark

Houston Rockets center Christian Wood inadvertently became a part of  Stephen Curry’s career-setting highlight on Saturday. The Golden State Warriors were at Chase Center playing the Rockets on Saturday when the two-time NBA MVP pulled off from his usual absurd range near the end of the third period.

Unfortunately for Wood, he was the unlucky victim of a pick-and-roll switch, as Curry splashed a long bomb right in his face. That bucket gave the three-time champion his 30th point of the ball game, extending his streak with 30 points or more to six straight games.

Stephen Curry is like a well-oiled machine right now and not even a slender 6-foot-10 defender like Christian Wood can slow him down. The 33-year-old megastar got more buckets after that deep trey, finishing with  38 points, eight rebounds, five assists and one steal in the Warriors’ 125-109 win.

While a scoring rampage from Steph is not really an unusual occurrence, the case can be made that he has been playing the best basketball of his life right now. He hasn’t scored less than 32 points in a game in two weeks.

It’s a shame that it hasn’t translated to more wins for Golden State, who are still 10th in the West Standings. Still, opposing defenders must be wary of Curry’s hot streak in the coming games. Or else, they’ll probably end up like poor Wood.
