Video: Suns’ Devin Booker nutmegs Rockets center Clint Capela

Devin Booker, Clint Capela

Despite having the worst record in the West, the Phoenix Suns haven’t given up on their season just yet. Playing the role of spoilers, the Suns travelled to Houston on Friday and gave the Rockets a good fight.

There were a handful of amazing plays during the contest, with one coming from Phoenix’s young sensation Devin Booker.

Mid-way through the third quarter, the former Three-Point Contest champion showed that he’s also got some sick handles apart from his sweet shooting stroke.

Watch Dime’s clip below of Booker nutmegging Houston center Clint Capela and drilling an open jumper afterwards:

Capela played good defense on the play against Booker, but the wily 22-year-old had the quick reaction and hands to somehow dribble the ball between the legs of the towering center.

Booker made the play look even better when his two-footer went in as James Harden failed to contest the shot after witnessing what just happened a few seconds earlier.

Alas; the Rockets would have the last laugh, as they’d go on to beat the Suns, 108-102. Harden would prove to be too much for Phoenix to handle with his insane 41-9-11 stat line. Capela also avenged himself from that rather embarrasing play with a double-double of 14 points and 11 boards.

As for Booker, he’d go on to lead his team with 29 points and seven assists in the loss.

The Suns will look back on this closely contested game with their heads held up high knowing that they can indeed contend with the best teams in the league with their young core of talent like Booker leading the way.
