VIDEO: Rockets’ Russell Westbrook tells Damian Lillard he can’t guard him after drawing a foul

Russell-Westbrook-Damian-Lillard-Rockets

The beef between Houston Rockets guard Russell Westbrook and Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard is well documented. That beef culminated in last year’s playoffs when Lillard’s Blazers won in five games against Westbrook who was then with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Either way, it’s clear that these two players don’t exactly like each other. The two stars are constantly trying to one-up the other and prove they’re the better player — something they will let the other know any chance they get.

In the Rockets, Blazers matchup on Wednesday, Russell Westbrook had one of those moments. Backing down Lillard in the post, Westbrook went up for a layup only to be hacked by Lillard. Both frustrated and proud, Westbrook let it be known that Lillard can’t guard him.

On the contrary, Westbrook’s Rocket squad was down 11 points in the fourth quarter at the time of the incident and would go on to lose to Portland 107-117. For the game, Westbrook would contribute 31 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists while Lillard would record 25 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in the double-digit win.
