Video: Rockets make tribute video thanking Patrick Beverley

Patrick Beverley

After one of the most event-filled offseasons in recent years, the 2017-18 NBA season was due to have its fair share of intriguing homecomings. Unfortunately, one of them was canceled after a leg injury to Houston Rockets superstar point guard Chris Paul kept him from making his return to the Staples Center against his former L.A. Clippers.

However, that did not stop Houston from showing their appreciation for former point guard Patrick Beverley. The Rockets released this tribute video on their official Twitter thanking him for his years with the franchise:

Beverley got off to a slow start to his career after bouncing around from the D-League and overseas before finally settling down with Houston. He had spent his entire NBA career with the Rockets prior to being traded. In his five seasons with the franchise, Beverley had earned two All-NBA Defensive team selections while undoubtedly serving as their emotional catalyst.

His tenacity on defense made him an instant fan favorite in Los Angeles as well and actually took on a larger role within the offense than he ever had in his career. Unfortunately, his debut season with the Clippers was cut short after a season-ending knee injury 11 games into the year. That said, it is clear that Beverley will have not one, but two fan bases anxiously awaiting his return next season.
