Video: Rockets’ James Harden responds to the negative critiques about his game

Rockets-James-Harden

Houston Rockets guard James Harden scored last season like few have before him in the history of the NBA, averaging 36.1 points per game. Despite that, the All-Star has received his hefty share of criticism for his style of play. In an attempt to clear the air about what it is that people get wrong about his game, Harden had this to say when speaking with SportsCenter:

Any critic deriding Harden for seeking foul calls is likely yanking at their hair to kick off the 2019-20 year. After Harden averaged 11 free throws per game last year, he is on pace to shatter that mark, having averaged 15.1 free throws per game over his first 10 contests, making 13.3 of those. Only Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks has also been able to draw enough fouls to make it to the line on double-digit occasions.

Either way, Harden figures to continue resetting the standard for elite scoring in the league at the beat of his own drum.
