Video: Rockets’ Chris Paul smiles away after sly theft on Jonas Jerebko

Chris Paul of the Houston Rockets couldn’t help but smile after snagging the ball away from Jonas Jerebko of the Golden State Warriors.

Chris Paul, who led the league in steals six times, casually stripped the ball out of Jerebko’s hands, which led to a three-pointer on the other end.

After the play, close-ups of Paul reveal that he was smiling all the way through. Apart from the great defensive play, the Rockets were up by a hefty margin at that point. It seems that Chris Paul was letting the home crowd know that on that night, they have the Warriors’ number.

The Rockets eventually won the game, 107-86. Paul finished with 10 points, seven assists, five rebounds, and three steals. His backcourt partner James Harden contributed 27 points along with four makes from downtown.

It was a much-needed win for the Rockets against their Western Conference rivals. The Warriors played without sharpshooting guard Stephen Curry, who’s expected to miss at least five games. Kevin Durant had 20 points on 6-of-15 shooting, Klay Thompson just had 10 points on a dismal 5-of-16 mark from the field.

The Rockets’ win comes in after finally deciding to part ways with Carmelo Anthony — who played just 10 games with them.
