Video: Rockets’ Chris Paul shares special moment with fan after win over Hawks

Chris Paul, Rockets, Hawks

Houston Rockets point guard Chris Paul is widely regarded by fans and his peers as one of the toughest and at times dirtiest players in the league. However on Tuesday night, Paul showed his more gentler and affectionate side by sharing a touching moment with a Rockets fan after the game.

Houston took on the Atlanta Hawks in Georgia, with the visiting team emerging victorious, 121-105. While the majority of the fans in attendance weren’t as pleased with the result, one kid dressed in all Rockets gear couldn’t be happier with what happened after his favorite team won the contest.

Here’s the clip of Paul’s special moment with the young fan in question, who broke down into tears of joy seeing his NBA hero signing autographs for him left and right (via ESPN’s official Twitter page):

Apart from signing the CP3 jersey worn by the lucky kid, it also appears as though Paul gave the fortunate little fella his game-worn sneakers and signed them just the same. The nine-time All-Star then invited the kid for a heartwarming hug, capping off an unforgettable moment for the young Houston fan in Atlanta.

Prior to Tuesday’s contest, Paul recalled the time when he was almost drafted by the Hawks in 2005. As it turned out, Atlanta instead selected Marvin Williams with their second-overall pick and Paul fell to the then-New Orleans Hornets with their fourth-overall selection.

Although CP3 could’ve easily been a superstar as a Hawk had things panned out differently in that year’s draft, at least he’s made a positive impact for one deserving fan in Atlanta.
