The NBA season is back, and so is Houston Rockets forward Carmelo Anthony’s NSFW yell while grabbing rebounds.
Over the past few seasons, the microphone above the rim has caught Anthony cursing while securing rebounds, and it’s become a tradition unlike any other. Making his Rockets regular-season debut Wednesday night against the New Orleans Pelicans, Anthony grabbed a rebound over Pelicans guard E’Twaun Moore, and yelled very loudly.

Carmelo Anthony came off the bench tonight for the first time in his NBA career. Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni is going to stagger Anthony and P.J. Tucker this season since both players play the same position. Tucker will start for Houston, and then Anthony will come in for Tucker, who is the superior defender.
Anthony averaged a career-low 16.2 points per game with the Oklahoma City Thunder last year and shot only 40.4 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from beyond the arc. Playing alongside his buddy, Chris Paul, and reigning MVP, James Harden, the hope within Houston is that Anthony will have a bounce-back season.
One thing is certain, though. Carmelo Anthony is going to continue to yell every time he grabs a defensive rebound for the Rockets. It’s quickly becoming one of the funniest sights in the NBA.
