Video: Lonzo Ball slips on his way to picking up teammate Kyle Kuzma

Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma

Whoops! Those wet spots on a basketball court can really sneak up on you, and that’s exactly what happened to Los Angeles Lakers rising star rookie point guard Lonzo Ball on Wednesday night against the Houston Rockets.

Towards the end of the third quarter with Los Angeles up 80-79 over Houston, fellow Lakers rising star rookie forward Kyle Kuzma attacked the basket and drew a foul. After Kuzma had fallen to the ground, Ball and teammate Brandon Ingram hurried down the floor so they could lend him a hand.

Unfortunately for Ball, he slipped on a wet spot on the Target Center floor and accidentally kicked Kuzma while he was falling down. Luckily, both of them were okay and continued to play the rest of the game. The blooper, which was posted to the House of Highlights official Instagram page, can be viewed below:

On the night, the Lakers (11-18) were all business and pulled off one of the NBA’s biggest upsets of the season with a 122-116 victory over the Rockets (25-5) on the road. The win for Los Angeles snapped their three-game losing streak and put an end to Houston’s 14-game winning streak, as the Rockets were undefeated with point guard Chris Paul in the starting lineup this season until Wednesday night.

For the Lakers, Kuzma had a career-high 38 points on 12-of-17 shooting and was a perfect 9-of-9 from the field in the first half. Ball finished the night with 16 points on 5-of-14 shots from the floor, nine rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots. Over his last four games, Ball has not scored fewer than 13 points and is averaging 15.5 points per game during that stretch on 44 percent shooting.
