Video: Jusuf Nurkic gets posterized again, this time by Clint Capela

It was not that long ago when Portland Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic found himself on the receiving end of one of the most brutal-looking dunks of LeBron James’ career. Well, it looks like the basketball gods are not yet ready to take Nurkic out of the misery hole they put him in. During Tuesday night’s home game against the Houston Rockets, Nurkic was once again served with a disrespectful in-your-face slam, this time coming from Rockets center Clint Capela.

Granted that Clint Capela’s dunk was nowhere near the aesthetic level nor the grace of LeBron’s jam, it nonetheless brought back bad memories for Nurkic, who was late to the challenge as he had to worry about James Harden driving to the basket first.

Jusuf Nurkic, however, played well in the 115-111 loss to Houston. He scored 21 points on 9-for-10 shooting from the field and had 11 rebounds and four blocks in a huge performance. If anything, it should be CJ McCollum who should feel at least a bit embarrassed by the quality of the performance he showed, scoring only eight points on a salty 4-for-5 shooting.

The loss snapped the Blazers13-game unbeaten streak. It was also Portland’s first setback since the All-Star break.

The Rockets, on the other hand, collected their sixth straight victory on the strength of James Harden’s huge 42-point output.

Portland will rest for the next two days before taking on the Boston Celtics on Friday. After ending a three-game road trip, the Rockets will head back home for a date with the Detroit Pistons this coming Thursday.
