Video: James Harden throws off Kristaps Porzingis with step back move

The Houston Rockets made easy work of the New York Knicks on Wednesday, as they won in convincing fashion, 119-97. As expected, James Harden top-scored for his team, finishing with 31 points, and added five rebounds and nine assists to lead them to the victory on the night.

He also completed a play worthy of the highlight reel during the first half. After drawing Kristaps Porzingis to defend him 1-on-1, he drove to his left side before stepping back near the free throw line. That move brought the Knicks big man to his knees, before James Harden passed the ball to a wide-open Trevor Ariza for the corner 3-pointer.

Despite playing without Chris Paul for all but one game so far this season, the Rockets have made a lot of noise in the Western Conference by starting strong with a 6-3 record. James Harden is playing at an elite level again, with averages of 26 points, 4.8 rebounds, 9.1 assists, and 1.8 steals in 36.3 minutes per game.

The Knicks’ loss snapped their three-game winning streak that gave them a .500 record. They will return to action on Friday when they face the Phoenix Suns, in what can be expected to be a bounce back game for Kristaps Porzingis, especially after getting embarrassed by the ankle breaker of Harden.
