Video: James Harden thinks Kevin Durant is still with Warriors, hopes he comes back soon

James Harden, Kevin Durant

The Houston Rockets poured it on against a shorthanded Golden State Warriors side on Wednesday, with the lopsided contest ending with a final score of 129-112. James Harden led the way for the Rockets once again, accounting for a game-high 36 points (on 10-of-23 shooting), six 3-pointers, four rebounds, 13 assists, three steals, and three blocks in 35 minutes of play.

After his team’s comfortable win, Harden had some very interesting comments as he discussed Golden State’s current injury situation:

That’s some unrivaled in-game focus right there demonstrated by Harden, who appears to be so locked in that he completely forgot about Kevin Durant’s big summer move to the Brooklyn Nets. Surely, Harden must have read up on at least some NBA news during the offseason, or he must have somehow found out about one of the biggest headlines of what was an absolutely crazy free agency window. It’s simply unfathomable for the former MVP to not know that Durant is no longer a Warrior.

This is likely just a case of a simple brain fart for Harden, and perhaps his subconscious has been so used to going to battle against Durant and the Warriors over the past couple of seasons that it has become second nature to him.

All jokes aside, though, Harden has been once again putting up monster numbers to start the new season for the Rockets. The seven-time All-Star is averaging 36.5 points (on 38.7 percent shooting), 3.8 treys, 5.0 rebounds, 8.1 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.8 blocks in 35.4 minutes per game.
