VIDEO: James Harden says Rockets are ‘on a mission’ after blowout win over Warriors

The Houston Rockets came out firing after an extended All-Star break, as they took down the Golden State Warriors in blowout fashion, 135-105. The Dubs did not stand a chance in this one, with the Rockets opening up a huge 38-17 lead to end the opening period, and they never looked back from there. Following their impressive victory, Houston superstar James Harden spoke about his team’s mindset on Thursday as they kicked off the second half of the season.

Harden showed no rust against Golden State, finishing with a game-high 29 points (6-of-16 shooting, 14-of-15 from the line), three rebounds, 10 assists, three steals, and two blocks in 30 minutes of action. As the former Most Valuable Player winner described above, the Rockets were extremely focused tonight, as they set out on what they hope to be a strong second half of the season.

The Rockets are currently in possession of a 35-20 record, as they sit at the fifth spot in a ruthless Western Conference. It’s getting really tight in the West, with just five games separating the second-seeded Denver Nuggets from the seventh-placed Dallas Mavericks. It’s looking like it’s going to go down the wire, and the Rockets will be at the very thick of the action.

Houston will be off on Friday but will be back in action on Saturday as they take on the Utah Jazz. This is going to be a big one for Harden and company, with Utah just a game and a half above them in the standings and could also be huge when determining the crucial tie breaker.
