On a Thursday night where the Houston Rockets (12-4) set a franchise record for most points in a first half by scoring 90 points on the Phoenix Suns, superstar points guard James Harden couldn’t help but clown on his teammate and fellow court general Chris Paul.

Paul, who returned from a knee bruise injury to the Rockets’ active lineup after being absent since the team’s season opener, was called “the little midget” by Harden during his postgame interview.

“The same as it is every game: be aggressive and try to make the right decision,” Harden said of his mentality heading into the Rockets’ 142-116 trouncing of the Suns. “I’m happy to have the little midget back, he can help me with that. Just coming off a tough loss at home, we wanted to bounce back and we did that tonight.”

With his solid double-double effort of 11 points and 10 assists in just 21 limited minutes, Paul quickly had a response to Harden’s jab.

“I told him: who gets that close to 50 and don’t get it? You know what I’m saying? That’s weak.” Paul said with a smile.

James Harden helped extend his lead as the league’s leading scorer when he exploded for 48 points and dished out seven assists. The five-time NBA All-Star point guard put on a shooting clinic in Phoenix on national television, as he was 12-of-22 from the field, 6-of-11 from behind the arc and a perfect 18-of-18 from the charity stripe.
