Video: James Harden connects with Kenneth Faried on pick-and-roll play that ends with throwdown

Just a few hours after the news of him signing with the Houston Rockets broke out, it was announced that Kenneth Faried will be playing Monday night against the Philadelphia 76ers.

He did suit up for the Rockets, and is already making a statement.

What a way to reintroduce himself to the league.

The Rockets immediately went after and signed Faried when the Brooklyn Nets decided to waive him. Houston needed a big man to fill the void left by the injured Clint Capela, who is out at least 4-6 weeks after undergoing a thumb surgery.

Faried is making a good impression so far. The Manimal has seven points and two boards in 11 minutes against the Sixers at halftime.

However, Faried will need to improve on defense. The Rockets are currently trailing the Sixers 65-50 heading into the second half, and Philadelphia big man Joel Embiid has 24 points, seven boards, and three assists. Harden has been doing most of the scoring for Houston, as he has 27 points, four rebounds, and three assists. He’s three points away from notching his 20th consecutive game with at least 30 points.

Harden will need more production from the rest of the team though, as he’s the only one who has scored in double figures for the Rockets so far.
