Video: Chris Paul tells fan ‘bite me’ after taunt from the stands

Chris Paul

The Houston Rockets squeaked out a victory in Game 4 against the Golden State Warriors, but that didn’t stop some of the Warriors fans from talking trash. Late in the fourth quarter, a Warriors fan taunted Chris Paul yelling “you suck.” Paul was having none of it and told the fan to “bite me.”

The Rockets were up by three at the time of the play and held on late to win 95-92. It was a game filled with runs, but the Rockets were able to make the last one to tie the series up 2-2.

The Warriors led 28-19 after one, but in the second quarter it was all Rockets and they were able to pull right back into the game.

Coming out of the halftime break, it was once again all Warriors, but the Rockets outscored the home team 25-12 in the final quarter to come away with the win.

Paul didn’t just trash talk that fan, he also backed it up with his play on the court. He finished the game with 27 points, shooting 5-of-9 from three. Paul did miss a free throw that gave the Warriors a chance to tie it as time expired, but Stephen Curry missed a tough fadeaway three.

In the postgame TV interview, Paul said that the team was going to need all the support from the city of Houston, via Ben DuBose:

“The city of Houston, we’re going to need you Game 5. The city has been through a tough time with things in Santa Fe, but hopefully basketball can be a way that people can come and ease their minds, if only for a second. Houston, we’re coming home.”
