Video: Chris Paul seems to shut down notion that he’s beefing with Rockets management

Chris Paul

There have been a lot of rumors the last few weeks that Chris Paul and the Houston Rockets’ management had a little beef over the All-Star point guard’s contract situation. But after the NBA awards show, he seemed to shut that down.

Rachel Nichols asked Chris Paul, who was standing between Daryl Morey and Tad Brown, about rumored differences with Morey. All three of the guys started laughing and Paul said:

“Aint we Beefing? I can’t stand y’all, get away from me.”

It has been expected that Paul will stay with the Rockets, and the big question seems to be if he will be able to convince LeBron James to join forces and come to Houston.

James Harden told the Los Angeles Times’ Tania Ganguli that he doesn’t believe that Paul is actively recruiting James to join the Rockets, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want him.

“Nahh,” Harden said. “Him and Chris are really tight. As a friend, him and Chris are really good friends. I don’t think they talk about him coming to Houston. I think they talk about basketball and if LeBron wants to say, ‘Hey, I’m thinking about coming your way,’ then that’s a discussion we can have. I don’t think they talk about it.”

Harden went on to say that for as long as James has been in the league, he doesn’t think anyone trying to convince him will make a difference. LeBron is going to do what is best for him and his family, not what other NBA stars want him to do.
