Video: Chris Paul is utterly frustrated after Stephen Curry’s three
The Houston Rockets headed into Game 7 without one of their key cogs with All-Star point guard Chris Paul out of the lineup due to a second-degree right hamstring injury.
However, that hasn’t deterred Paul’s passion and level of competitiveness while on the bench during the contest. This was put on display in the third quarter as he showed his frustration after Stephen Curry continued to light it up in the third quarter with 14 points behind going 4-of-5 from 3-point range.
It was nothing short of a frustrating third quarter for the Rockets that saw their double-digit lead at the half go a complete upside down after the Warriors outscored them 33-15 in the period. Houston was ice cold in the period missing all 14 of their attempts from beyond the arc while Curry and Klay Thompson combining for 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field that included going 7-of-9 from beyond the arc.
This has given Golden State the momentum they need to take control of the contest on the road while forcing the Rockets to play more desperate basketball in response. All of this will make for an intense finish in the fourth quarter with a trip to the NBA Finals on the line.
