Video: Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan catch up prior to the game
There has been plenty of speculation regarding Houston Rockets point guard Chris Paul’s return to the Staples Center to square off against his former team in the Los Angeles Clippers. Paul shares quite a storied history with the Clippers after carrying them to Western Conference relevancy for the last six years before coming to the Rockets prior to the 2017-18 NBA season.
Among one of his prime running mates in center DeAndre Jordan. The two even shared a moment prior their matchup on Monday night, according to Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints

It is encouraging to see that the former teammates have remained close despite Paul’s departure from Los Angeles. The superstar point guard had played an integral role in helping to keep Jordan with the Clippers during the latter’s free agency. During their days together, they formed one of the best pick-and-roll combos in the entire NBA. The hope was that the team was finally on the cusp of taking that next step in the Western Conference playoffs.
Needless to say, things did not pan out and Paul was subsequently traded to the Rockets soon thereafter. Both players have still managed to put up relatively similar numbers this season compared to their tenure together. Paul is recording 18.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 9.2 assists per game, while Jordan is averaging 11.8 points, 14.9 rebounds, and a block nightly.
Unfortunately, the two will have to wait to play each other once again after Paul was sidelined for their first matchup back in late December. This time, it will be Jordan who’s missing the game with an ankle injury.
