Video: Carmelo Anthony working out while waiting for release from Rockets

Remember Carmelo Anthony? Yeah, that Carmelo Anthony who signed with the Houston Rockets over the summer only to be left out after just 10 games. We haven’t heard or seen Anthony since the Rockets announced they were parting ways with the veteran scorer. That is until now.

Carmelo Anthony is back in the lab trying to stay in shape. From the looks of it, the veteran forward is shooting at the gym where he always works out in New York City, the same gym where Hoodie Melo was created.

Carmelo Anthony averaged 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game with the Rockets while shooting 40.5 percent from the field and 32.8 percent from beyond the arc in the 10 games he played in. Houston is reportedly waiting to see if another team in the league has interest in Anthony. If there isn’t a market for the 10-time All-Star, the Rockets will then waive him.

When the Rockets signed Anthony over the summer, the prevailing thought was playing with All-Star point guard Chris Paul and reigning MVP James Harden would help Melo become an effective player in Houston. That wasn’t the case at all, as Anthony was a huge negative for the Rockets when he was on the court. Houston had a net rating of minus-9.0 with Anthony on the floor and plus-1.8 with him on the bench in his 10 games.

Will another team take a chance on Carmelo Anthony or is this it for the future Hall of Famer? Only time will tell.
