It’s a great start for the reigning MVP. In that possession, he proves that his athletic gifts extend to the defensive end of the floor. After all, he’s been selected to the NBA All-Defensive First Team last year and the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2017.
Antetokounmpo finished with a triple-double: 30 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists. Though he fouled out in the fourth quarter, his team was able to sneak out a victory, 117-111.
While it’s a long season with tons of games to play, winning the first game is definitely a great beginning. It will set the tone moving forward for the Bucks squad who are now considered legitimate championship contenders.
Last season, they were the best regular-season team with 60 wins. They made it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals but fell short. So it’s safe to say that this season, they’ll be out for some vengeance.
Their campaign can only be tagged as successful if they win the title.
