Video: Blake Griffin appears to do a Zaza slide on James Harden’s shot

blake griffin, james harden

Though it looks unintentional, Detroit Pistons forward Blake Griffin seems to have done his Zaza Pachulia impression on the Houston Rockets’ James Harden.

In a video posted by Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints, Harden landed awkwardly on Blake’s foot after a shot contest:

Though inadvertent, Blake was still given a flagrant foul.

The play reminded some of the Golden State Warriors center, particularly his clumsy, if not dirty, plays in the past. His latest antic which made the headlines was when he seemed to have intentionally landed on Russell Westbrook’s knee.

Below is the video and an analysis by ESPN, on whether or not Zaza tried to hurt Westbrook:

Perhaps it’s easy to blame Pachulia for being innately evil for his antics. After all, he has done it several times to different players. But for some analysts, maybe he’s is just plain clumsy. But this does not excuse him for his acts.

Harden was not himself for the entire night, shooting a paltry 4-of-20 from the field and 0-of-8 from long distance. The league-leading Rockets got themselves quite a scare against the Pistons as the game went to an extra session with Houston still prevailing 100-96.

This wasn’t a normal performance from the Clutch City team as they’ve spoiled their fans all season long with dynamic scoring on every night. Tonight, they even needed five more minutes to hit the century mark against a timid Pistons team.

Harden finished the game with 21 points. Griffin had himself the same scoring output as the MVP candidate but also boasted of 10 rebounds and 10 assists for a triple-double.
