Video: Alex Caruso posterizes P.J. Tucker with one-handed slam dunk

Want to know who’s excited about the New Year? Look no further than Los Angeles Lakers guard Alex Caruso. The second-year player out of Texas A&M University, who is getting more playing time due to rookie point guard Lonzo Ball’s shoulder ailment, brought the hammer down in the second quarter on Houston Rockets forward P.J. Tucker.

With the Lakers trailing 44-37 early in the second quarter of a high-scoring affair, Caruso took a pass from teammate Corey Brewer in transition and threw down a monster one-handed dunk to posterize Tucker.

A video of the awesome play, which was posted to the Lakers’ official Twitter account on Sunday night, can be viewed in all of its glory below.

This play really sparked the Lakers for the rest of the second quarter, as they turned a seven-point first quarter deficit into a seven-point halftime lead over the Rockets. At the end of the third quarter, Los Angeles extended its lead to 101-90 over Houston.

Both teams are currently in the midst of a five-game losing streak, so one of them will get to end 2017 on a very positive note.
