Video: Al Horford’s game-winning jump hook vs. Rockets

Al Horford

The Boston Celtics just did that. On Thursday night at TD Garden, the Celtics (29-10) stormed all the way back from a 26-point first half deficit to stun the Houston Rockets 99-98 after Boston center Al Horford nailed the game-winning jump hook shot with 3.7 seconds left in regulation.

A video of the play, which was immediately uploaded to the NBA’s official Twitter account, can be viewed below:

This was quite the amazing comeback by the Celtics, to put it lightly. For Rockets superstar guard James Harden, he was in pure shock towards the end of the game due to Celtics guard Marcus Smart drawing two offensive fouls on him in less than five seconds.

Smart, who finished with 13 points on the night, brought the Celtics to a one-point deficit when he passed to Jayson Tatum for an easy dunk with 7.3 seconds left.

The Rockets, who had a chance to seal the game, were up 98-95 after forward P.J. Tucker missed his second free-throw attempt with just 18.7 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

Boston, who has won two straight games since their Christmas Day loss at home to the Washington Wizards, never quit in this game and were able to drop Houston to their fourth consecutive loss. Kyrie Irving led the Celtics in scoring with 26 points and four assists, while Harden had a double-double with 34 points, 10 assists, and eight turnovers.
