Victor Oladipo's net worth in 2021

While 2021 on the court didn’t go as Victor Oladipo had hoped, his current team, the Miami Heat are gearing up for another playoff appearance. Oladipo recently underwent season-ending injury on his quad, bringing to an end another underwhelming injury plagued year. Despite that, Oladipo has done well for himself with his NBA contracts and Victor Oladipo’s net worth in 2021 remains somewhat on the rise.

Let’s take a look at Victor Oladipo’s net worth in 2021.

Victor Oladipo’s net worth in 2021 (estimate): $40 million

It should be noted that Victor Oladipo is in the final year of a four year, $84 million deal that he signed back when he was with the Oklahoma City Thunder, and is set become an unrestricted free agent after this season comes to an end. His most recent injury could have a major impact on his next deal.

Oladipo is set to earn an estimated $21 million this season on his current deal, making. The two-time All-Star, however, was already coming off a right knee injury that sidelined him for more than a year, and struggled in his return for Indiana, which prompted them to trade him to the Houston Rockets at the outset of the 2021 season. After staying in Houston for a cup of coffee, he was traded to the Miami Heat just a couple months after the Rockets had acquired him.

But even if he might not have a lot of suitors in free agency, Victor Oladipo’s resurgence in Indiana is still remarkable, with the 28-year old guard putting up career-best numbers with the Pacers after coming back from a brutal injury.

In his eight seasons in the league, Victor Oladipo has made $84.4 million throughout his career while playing for the Magic, Thunder, Pacers, Rockets and now Heat. He is set to make more before his career is done. As of this year, Oladipo’s net worth is at $40 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Oladipo’s annual earnings have increased exponentially since he was drafted by the Magic with the second overall pick out of Indiana in the 2013 NBA Draft. During his first season in Orlando, which was dealing with the aftermath of Dwight Howard’s departure, Victor Oladipo put up 13.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.6 steals, shooting 41.9% from the field and 32.7% from downtown. He was named to the All-Rookie First Team and finishing second in the Rookie of the Year race next to Michael Carter-Williams, and made $4.7 million in his first season.

His earnings would increase to $4.9 million as a sophomore, although Victor Oladipo suffered a facial fracture that caused him to miss some of Orlando’s games. Still, he was able to improve in almost every department in his second season, as he put up 17.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.7 steals in 72 games as a sophomore, shooting 43.6% from the field and 33.9% from distance. The Magic, however, would continue to struggle, finishing with a 25-57 win-loss record, just a two-win improvement from last season.

Victor Oladipo’s third and final season in Orlando saw a 10-win improvement under coach Scott Skiles, but that season also saw him playing off the bench for some of their early games. Nevertheless, he returned to the starting lineup later in the season and helped the Magic finish with a 35-47 record, their best record since Howard’s departure. Oladipo’s annual salary was bumped up to $5.1 million as Orlando exercised the fourth year team option on his rookie contract, which was supposed to keep him in a Magic uniform until the end of next season.

But that wasn’t what happened as Victor Oladipo found himself on the move, with the Magic trading the young guard along with Ersan Ilyasova and the draft rights to Domantas Sabonis to Oklahoma City in exchange for big man Serge Ibaka. In his only season with the Thunder, the former Indiana Hoosier averaged 15.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.2 steals while making 44.2% of his shots from the field and 36.1% from downtown in 76 games.

It was also with the Thunder where Victor Oladipo got his first taste of postseason action, playing in five playoff games for Oklahoma City. He earned $6.5 million in his lone season with the Thunder, which was higher than any season of his rookie deal. The Thunder apparently liked what they saw from Oladipo, signing him to a four-year, $84 million deal during the season.

But once again, the athletic guard found himself on the move, this time to Indiana as part of the trade that sent Paul George to the Thunder. It was with coach Nate McMillan and the Pacers where Victor Oladipo has had his best seasons, averaging a career-best 23.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2.4 steals while shooting 47.7% from the field and 37.1% from downtown in his first year for the Pacers, winning the Most Improved Player award and being named an All Star for the first time in his career. The 2017-2018 season also saw Oladipo being named to the All NBA Third Team and the All Defensive First Team after leading the league in steals.

After helping the Pacers finish with a 48-34 record, Victor Oladipo earned $21 million in his first season with the team, which more than tripled his previous annual salary. The following season, he picked up where he left off, averaging 18.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 1.7 steals while shooting 42.3% overall and 34.3% from distance. He was on his way to another solid season and All-Star appearance before rupturing the quad tendon in his right knee during a game against the Toronto Raptors in January 2019, which caused him to miss a year of action.

Since then, it’s been a struggle for Oladipo to stay healthy in any sort of extended capacity. His stay in Houston was very short-lived, and underwhelming before the Miami Heat took a flyer on him at the trade deadline. And now his season-ending quad surgery in 2021 casts a lot of doubt as to what Oladipo will look like coming back from another rehabbed injury. Someone will take a chance on him in free agency, but gone are the days of Oladipo getting a major contract.
