Twitter doesn’t forget that Klay Thompson had once saved Golden State in Game 6 elimination

Klay Thompson led the way for the Golden State Warriors in their 115-86 victory over the Houston Rockets in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals. The four-time All-Star definitely came ready to play as he top-scored for the Dubs with a 35-point performance after draining nine out of his 14 attempts from distance and going 13-of-23 overall.
This, however, was not the first time Thompson stepped it up for the Warriors in a Game 6 elimination matchup. Facing the Oklahoma City Thunder — then led by current teammate Kevin Durant — in the 2016 Western Conference finals, Thompson hit a record-breaking 11 trey bombs to finish the game with a total of 41 points.
Twitter historians were quick to point this out as they reminded the entire basketball world of Thompson’s knack for heroics in do-or-die games — particularly Game 6.
Say what you want about Klay, he’s picked some pretty important times to show up

Game 6’s are for Klay Thompson. He owns them and doles them out at his leisure.

The Warriors pulled away from the Rockets in the second half of the contest outscoring their opponents by an amazing 64-25 margin in the final two quarters. This was in large part due to the unconscious shooting of Thompson who refused for this to be his or his team’s last game of the season.
These two squads will face off again on Monday evening in what should be an epic Game 7 matchup. Klay and the rest of the Warriors will need to bring their A-game to Houston as MVP front-runner James Harden and his Rockets will definitely be going all out with a trip to the NBA finals at stake.
