Trae Young’s bold message to the haters after his 42-point performance vs. Nuggets

Trae Young, Hawks

Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young silenced his haters with a brimming 42-point performance against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday, and he made sure to rub it in their faces after the game with an epic caption from his Twitter account:

Though it looks the second-year point guard actually stole that from James Harden, two days after promising he would:

Trae Young has looked every bit the savior of the franchise after a rousing start to the season, now averaging 28.0 points and 8.7 assists through his first nine games of the 2019-20 campaign.

The Oklahoma product was doubted upon breaking into the league, as he struggled to adjust to the physicality and length of NBA defenses. After a flip of the calendar, Young has been nothing short of electric since the start of 2019, showing his true potential as a highly skilled scorer and dynamic playmaker.

There are many pundits who owe Young an apology, but there is certainly no better pleasure for Trae than to prove them wrong on a nightly basis. The Hawks star shot 13-of-21 from the floor, including a season-high eight 3-pointers in Tuesday’s 125-121 win over the Nuggets, besting Nikola Jokic and company in what could be easily considered his best win of the season.
