Trae Young reacts to Giannis Antetokounmpo-James Harden beef

Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young chimed in on the Giannis Antetokounmpo-James Harden beef, which was cooking on Friday after a preview of Harden’s interview with ESPN’s Rachel Nichols went live.

Harden was asked to address the perception the league seems to have about him and his lack of appreciation, but he took it a notch higher once he was asked to comment on Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey’s premise of him being unappreciated. Harden wound up taking a shot at Antetokounmpo’s skill set:

“When it’s all said and done, they will appreciate it more,” said Harden. “But I wish I could just run and be 7 feet and just dunk. Like that takes no skill at all (laughs).

“I had to actually learn how to play basketball and how to have skill, you know? I take that any day.”

Young couldn’t help but grab a bag of popcorn and love this beef talk during what are considered the dog days of the NBA season:

Harden preceded that statement by ensuring to clear up he should have been picked before Kemba Walker if he really was looking for someone who would pass the ball:

“I average more assists him than him, I think,” said Harden of Walker. “I don’t see what the joke is.

“I didn’t even see [the All-Star Draft]. I don’t pay attention to stuff like that. I just know none of them can mess with me.”

Seems the young Hawks star and the rest of the NBA will be plenty entertained with how this beef between Harden and Antetokounmpo is bound to unfold. The Rockets and Bucks play one more time in the regular season on March 25 in a nationally televised game on ESPN. After that, perhaps we see these two stars take their beef to the NBA Finals.
