The unusual coincidence from some of James Harden’s playoff losses

Rockets-James-Harden

Houston Rockets superstar shooting guard James Harden is one of the best players in the NBA and will certainly go down as one of the greatest scorers of all time.

However, for whatever reason, Harden has had some awful shooting games in the playoffs.

Per Sam Quinn of CBS Sports, it appears Harden’s most consistent stat line in the playoffs is The Beard going 2-of-11 from the field. Take a look:

James Harden and the Rockets are one loss away from getting bounced by the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the playoffs. It’s been a struggle for Houston ever since the team won Game 1 over LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

The Rockets lost to the Golden State Warriors in the second round of the 2019 playoffs despite the Warriors playing without arguably their best playoff star Kevin Durant in Game 6. The hope was that acquiring former MVP Russell Westbrook from the Oklahoma City Thunder would help Houston get out of the second round, but it doesn’t appear that is going to happen.

If the Rockets do wind up losing to the Lakers, the team will face a lot of questions in the offseason. Head coach Mike D’Antoni’s contract is up and negotiations have been rocky already despite their regular-season success, so another postseason failure would almost surely lead to him not being retained. General manager Daryl Morey is obviously not going to trade Harden, but he could possibly look into moving Westbrook since Russ is really struggling to shoot the 3-ball in the playoffs.
