Terrence Jones turning attention to NBA comeback

Terrence Jones

Terrence Jones is now solely focused on making his NBA comeback.

The former first round pick just finished playing in the Philippines, where he suited up for the TNT KaTropa of the Philippine Basketball Association and won the Best Import award. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to lead his team to the championship, as his team lost in the Finals.

As unfortunate as it has been, Jones is ready to move on. In his interview with, Jones said that he will start prepare for the upcoming NBA season amid reports that the Houston Rockets are interested in bringing him back.

“Right now, I’m just moving forward to my next chapter and that’s trying to get ready for the NBA season,” Jones said.

Last season, Jones signed two 10-day contracts with the Rockets, though he only appeared in two games for the franchise. He’s still just 27 years old and can contribute to Houston as they begin their quest for their first NBA championship since 1995.

Based on his performance in the Philippines, Jones has shown that he can score, especially in isolation plays. And while the level of competition is certainly not even close as compared to the NBA, he often had to go up against fellow Americans — most of them he dominated.

However, Jones will need to work on his free throw and 3-point shooting which have been his biggest weaknesses. If he can improve on those areas, he might just find a place in the NBA where he can stay.
