Devin Booker achieved the feat in their 124-121 loss to the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. He finished with 50 points on 19-of-29 shooting from the field, 3-of-9 from downtown and 9-of-10 from the free throw line. His performance came in after his 59-point outburst in their loss to the Utah Jazz on Monday.
James Harden, for his part, notched back-to-back 50-point games in January. In a 112-94 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Jan. 14, the reigning MVP dropped 57 points. The following game on Jan. 16, he scored 58 markers in an overtime 145-142 loss to the Brooklyn Nets.
Devin Booker, who’s just in his fourth year in the league, has been widely considered as one of the most potent scorers out there. He’s been mentioned in the same sentence with Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson, among others. Before Wednesday’s showdown, he’s averaging 26.2 points per game on 45.7 percent shooting from the field, 32.6 percent from 3-pointers, and 86.2 from the free throw line.
Devin Booker still has a long career to go, but we can certainly say that he’ll go down as one of the best offensive talents to ever grace the courts of the NBA.
