Suns’ Devin Booker inspired by James Harden’s 2018-19 season

Houston Rockets guard James Harden has done it all over the course of the last two seasons. However, “The Beard” has somehow managed to up the ante thus far into the 2018-19 campaign while many from around the league continue to take notice — including up-and-coming Phoenix Suns point guard Devin Booker.

Harden’s recent stretch of success has been unparalleled, which is putting it lightly at this point. Playing alongside Harden and the Rockets in the Western Conference, despite the Suns finding themselves in the cellar at the moment, Booker has been inspired by Harden’s play this season.

Prior to their matchup with the Rockets on Monday, Booker and the Suns were very much aware of the ardent task that is guarding the surging Harden.

“We know it’s going to be a shoot out,” Booker told Ashley Nevel of SB Nation. “Every time you play Houston, they’re going to force you to speed up the game a little bit with D’Antoni’s offense and I think we’ll be fine doing that just they’re going to make tough shots. We just got to make it hard on them. Obviously stay out of foul trouble. They do a good job drawing fouls and getting to the line so just being aware of that.”

However, Harden still proved to be too much for the entire Suns squad as his 44-point outburst doomed Booker’s team, 118-110.
