Steve Kerr planning to play starters 40-plus minutes in Game 7 vs. Rockets

Warriors

The Golden State Warriors starters will have to trot out heavy minutes once again during a crucial Game 7 against the Houston Rockets.

Coming off three straight games in which their four All-Star have averaged 40 or more minutes in between them, head coach Steve Kerr plans to put their main cogs in full blast once again, missing one of their Hamptons Five teammates in Andre Iguodala, who was ruled out for the game.

The man at the helm said he’d incorporate rest in short bursts, but won’t keep any of his starters out for long, knowing it’s all-or-nothing against a Rockets team that will have the home court advantage in a very pivotal point in their season, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

The starters will surely have a heavy load to carry tonight, excluding Kevon Looney, who will play, but likely get more into the 20-minute stint while splitting time with other reserves.

Still uncertain about a Chris Paul return; though unlikely, the Warriors will have to make the most of their time on the court and capitalize on their opportunities in hopes to secure another trip to the NBA Finals, with the Cleveland Cavaliers once again awaiting after squeezing past the Boston Celtics on Sunday night.
