Steve Kerr mocks Rockets star James Harden to start press conference

Warriors, Steve Kerr, 2019 NBA Playoffs,

Following the Golden State Warriors’ Game 1 victory over the Houston Rockets in their second-round Western Conference playoff series on Sunday afternoon, Rockets star James Harden criticized the officiating, saying he deserves a “fair chance” from the referees.

Harden was referring to a few instances in the game where he thought he was fouled on three-point attempts, specifically in the closing moments of the fourth quarter when Warriors big man Draymond Green made contact with Harden on a three-point try, but nothing was called.

Golden State head coach Steve Kerr took the opportunity to mock Harden to reporters on Monday, flailing his arms and legs when he sat down to mimic Harden flopping:

Obviously, it has to be frustrating for the Warriors to constantly have to deal with questions about the officiating following a win, especially when many have accused referees for giving Harden the benefit of the doubt far too much throughout his career.

Harden ended up scoring 35 points off 9-of-28 shooting in what ended up being a 104-100 loss, making four three-pointers. He also got to the free-throw line 14 times, so it wasn’t like he wasn’t getting any calls at all.

The Rockets seemed to blow a golden opportunity in the loss, as both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson were dealing with ankle issues and were clearly not 100 percent.

Now, Houston will have to find a way to not go down 2-0 when it faces the Warriors in Game 2 at Oracle Arena on Tuesday evening.

This also marks the fourth time since 2015 that the Rockets have faced the Dubs in the playoffs.
