Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr voiced his frustration with the way referees officiated Houston Rockets star James Harden, commenting thru his verified Twitter account in one of the NBA’s tweets to promote watching TNT’s Thursday doubleheader.
Harden is featured in the video draining a step-back 3-pointer, one that by Kerr’s standards should have been called a carry prior to the shooting motion.

“It’s an embarrassment,” said Kerr in the tweet. “I think the league is so happy with all the scoring that it doesn’t want to enforce stuff like that.”

The tweet was quickly deleted after a few moments, but the internet never forgets, and there was perhaps no worst account to reply to than the NBA’s itself, who would have every record of the activity that ensued.
Harden has been known to feast on mismatches, especially on one like the 6-foot-11 LaMarcus Aldridge, but what makes his step-back tricky is him collecting the ball with two hands and stepping back.
Kerr was clearly not happy with it but perhaps should have taken a page out of Kevin Durant’s book and tried a burner account to protect himself from a fine.
Coaches and front office people are prohibited from talking about officials and players from other teams, making this an offense, that if looked at by the NBA, could result in some money out of Kerr’s pocket.
This could also peg the start of what seems to be a collision course for the Rockets and the Warriors in the wild, wild West.
