Spurs’ DeMar DeRozan thinks James Harden could score 100

Wilt Chamberlain’s 100-point game was thought to be something that can’t be beaten in NBA history. However, San Antonio Spurs talent DeMar DeRozan believes Houston Rockets superstar James Harden can definitely break the record.

The San Antonio Spurs shooting guard has faced The Beard enough times to have a good idea of how he is as a basketball player. Given how incredible Harden has been scoring this season, he doesn’t have a doubt that he would be more than able to break the single-game scoring record that has stood since the 1960s.

Moreover, he has the intimate knowledge of having grown up with Harden in the basketball-crazy city of Los Angeles.

Per San Antonio Express-News’ Jeff McDonald:

Having grown up in Los Angeles with Harden, however, DeRozan was less impressed with his friend’s latest feat.

“I’m pretty sure if he put his mind to it, he could score 100,” DeRozan said.

It’s hard for everyone to not talk about James Harden beating Chamberlain’s record as it’s something that’s seen by many in today’s NBA. The last one to even graze close to his record was Kobe Bryant’s legendary 81-point outburst against the Toronto Raptors.

Harden’s teammates definitely believe that he can pull that off at some point in the future.

“What he’s doing has not been seen,” teammate Austin Rivers said, per The Star’s Kristie Rieken. “My man had 60 and didn’t play the fourth quarter. Name another player who could do that right now.”

The 30-year-old superstar is having a legendary season in his eighth season for the Rockets. He’s averaging an insane 38.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 7.8 assists on 45/36/87 shooting splits.
