Spurs’ Dejounte Murray knows Rockets will be ‘out for revenge’ after crazy last matchup

San Antonio Spurs guard Dejounte Murray knows the Houston Rockets will be out for revenge after a crazy end to their last matchup. The Spurs managed to rally from down 18 to tie the game by the end of regulation, forcing two overtimes and walking away with the win after a pair of DeMar DeRozan free throws and a consequent charge call that gave them the ball back with fractions of a second left on the clock.

The Rockets protested the loss after a James Harden dunk was not counted, as it went through the net but then flipped back up on the rim before it was tapped out of bounds.

The league denied their request, given that the dunk didn’t have a massive effect on the game’s outcome. The Rockets were up by 13 points with 7:50 left in the fourth once Harden “missed” the dunk in the eyes of the referees, but it soon became a 16-point lead after a Harden trey — a lead the Rockets blew the rest of the way.

Still, Murray knows Houston will be out for blood:

“We know they’re going to come out for revenge, especially after all that happened, protests and whatever they were trying to do,” said Murray, according to Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News. “We just have to prepare to play our game.”

The Spurs are struggling at 10-15, and while the 135-133 double-overtime win is likely the highlight of their season, they will have a tough time going against a stacked and now extra-motivated Rockets offense, determined to leave no doubt on the court once the ball tips off Monday night.
