Skip Bayless still predicting Rockets will knock off Warriors

The Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets have provided us with an exciting Western Conference Semifinal series, with the teams neck and neck in points scored. With potentially three games left to decide who will move on to the Western Conference Finals, Skip Bayless is sticking with his original prediction of the Rockets:

While the Warriors won the first two games at Oracle against the Rockets, they were incredibly close contests, coming down to the very end in both. Furthermore, Golden State lost two home games against the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round and often struggled on its home court in the regular season.

Bayless also attributes his bold prediction to the possibility of Kevin Durant leaving, with many thinking he’s already halfway gone from the team. While he has been the Warriors’ best player in the postseason, the conversation around Durant possibly leaving in free agency continues to swirl, which could be a distraction for the rest of his teammates.

Of course, Game 5 of the series will be a pivotal game for each team. For the Warriors, maintaining home-court advantage will be huge, especially when trying to go up 3-2 in the series. For the Rockets, a 3-2 lead with Game 6 in Houston could be the chance the Rockets need to finally get past the Warriors and move one step closer to capturing another NBA championship.

While the Warriors are still the more talented team, they’ve been pushed to the brink of elimination by the Rockets before. With Houston now playing even more aggressively, it’ll be up to Golden State to muster the energy to match if there’s going to be a three-peat.
