Skip Bayless blasts Russell Westbrook for costly turnover in Game 6 loss

Skip Bayless is at it again and this time, Houston Rockets star Russell Westbrook is in his cross-hairs.

The UNDISPUTED anchor didn’t mince his words towards the Houston Rockets’ starting guard after Westbrook’s crucial turnover. The point guard coughed it up in the dying moments of the game seemingly cost his team any chance at winning. Houston had a chance to close out their series against the Oklahoma City Thunder but Chris Paul (and Westrbook’s turnovers) had different plans as OKC won 104-100 and forced a Game 7 on Wednesday.

Bayless Tweeted after the game to blame the former MVP for turning the ball over multiple times to the demise of his team. For what it’s worth, Westbrook had a total of seven turnovers on Monday night – one of which was a crucial no-look-pass to Robert Covington which ended up being too far for the Rockets forward.

Bayless even went as far as calling Brodie “Westbrick” to allude to all his poor shots and turnovers.

Westbrook sat out the majority of the series due to a strained quadriceps muscle and played in only his second playoff game for Houston. Westbrook’s return hasn’t been smooth so far. He had a dismal shooting night in Houston’s Game 5 win and, though he ended up shooting way better in Game 6, he airballed a jumpshot late in the fourth which was probably what Bayless was referring to in an earlier tweet.

It’s not often that Bayless is right in his never-ending criticism over players but he does seem to hit the nail on the head on this one. Russell Westbrook is running out of time to figure out how he can best be effective as Houston’s starting guard. Hopefully for Rockets fans, he comes back strong in Game 7.
