Ryan Hollins is voicing his support for Rajon Rondo

Ryan Hollins Rajon Rondo

The NBA world is still trying to make sense of the fight between Rajon Rondo and Chris Paul from Saturday night. However, longtime NBA player turned analyst Ryan Hollins is voicing his support for his former Boston Celtics teammate.

Rondo and Hollins played together with the Celtics for a brief period of time in 2012, a stint which included a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals before the Celtics fell to the Miami Heat in five games. And Hollins seems to retain a good relationship with Rondo as he showed his support to the Lakers’ veteran point guard a few days after his scuffle and eventual suspension.

Hollins was a 10-year veteran of the league and played for nine different teams during his career. He has had more teammates than most guys and still holds Rondo in the highest regard.

On its face, this doesn’t seem like that big of a deal. Hollins is stepping up to defend a former teammate. But where this gets weird is when you realize that Hollins also spent time with Chris Paul. In fact, Hollins played more games with the LA Clippers than any of his other stops during his career. He played with Paul for two seasons, but he’s standing firmly behind Rondo.

That’s somewhat telling about the situation. Of course, many have stepped up to back Paul in this situation as well. But the one thing we do know is that this feud is not dying down any time soon. There’s no love lost between Rajon Rondo and Chris Paul, and you can be sure that their next encounter will be just as intense as it’s ever been.
