RUMOR: Rockets will meet with Jimmy Butler in Philadelphia, confident in their pursuit of him

The Houston Rockets are reportedly confident in their pursuit of Philadelphia 76ers forward Jimmy Butler, who they will meet in Philly when free agency starts.
Houston has set their sights on Butler as they aim to make a splash this free agency. Daryl Morey and Co. are reportedly planning to do anything to get the veteran swingman, with reports indicating that they are willing to do a sign-and-trade with the Sixers.
Now, according to Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic, the Rockets are optimistic they have a shot at Butler and pair him with the All-Star duo of Chris Paul and James Harden.
There’s been buzz surrounding Jimmy Butler and the #Rockets since before his trade to Philadelphia. Houston feels confident in its pursuit of Butler and will meet with him in Philadelphia with the hope he joins Chris Paul and James Harden, league sources told @TheAthleticHOU.

The Rockets remain a legitimate force in the always dangerous Western Conference, though they just can’t get it done come postseason time year in and year out. Houston suffered another frustrating playoffs exit at the hands of the Golden State Warriors for the second-straight year.
With last season being no different, the Rockets are now looking to take the next step with Harden — and possibly the Paul. While Houston is looking to get better by adding Butler one way or another, it appears as though the entire West will be getting better when free agency is all said and done.
