Rumor: Rockets have dangled Brandon Knight in trade talks

Brandon Knight, Rockets

The Houston Rockets have reportedly dangled combo guard Brandon Knight in trade talks, according to Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders.

The Rockets acquired Brandon Knight from the Phoenix Suns in the summer in the Ryan Anderson trade. He made his season-debut last week after rehabbing from an ACL tear which he suffered in the offseason of 2017.

Houston is reportedly trying to acquire another impact player to pair alongside reigning MVP James Harden and All-Star point guard Chris Paul.

he Rockets have also dangled guard Brandon Knight in trade talks, although Knight has returned to playing after several injury-plagued seasons and there isn’t much demand for him. The Rockets seem to be looking for one more notable guy and the Knight contract ($14.6 million this season and $15.64 million next season) could be the salary needed to get Houston a bigger dollar guy.

In the four games he has played in this year, Brandon Knight is averaging 1.3 points. He holds career averages of 15.1 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists while shooting 41.4 percent from the field, 35.6 percent from beyond the arc and 81.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Houston reportedly has Los Angeles Lakers swingman Kentavious Caldwell-Pope on its radar. It’s unlikely the Rockets and Lakers can construct a trade without a third team being involved, so that’s where Brandon Knight would come into play.
