Rumor: Luc Mbah a Moute, Vince Carter unlikely to be attracted to sign with Rockets

Rockets, Luc Mbah a Moute, Vince Carter

Veterans Luc Mbah a Moute and Vince Carter are reportedly unlikely to be attracted to sign with the Houston Rockets, according to Clutch Fans.

The Rockets currently have 13 players on the roster. Houston’s current opportunities are more “come into camp and earn it,” and that isn’t currently attractive to Mbah a Moute and Carter.

Vince Carter wants to play one more season in the NBA before retiring. The former high-flyer played with the Atlanta Hawks in 2018-19. He averaged 7.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists while shooting 41.9 percent from the field, 38.9 percent from beyond the arc and 71.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Luc Mbah a Moute was part of the 2017-18 Rockets team which had the best record in the NBA and lost to the Golden State Warriors in seven games in the 2018 Western Conference Finals. The 32-year-old only played in four games with the Los Angeles Clippers last season due to injury. With the Rockets in 2017-18, Mbah a Moute averaged 7.5 points and 3.0 rebounds.

There’s been talk the Rockets are monitoring Andre Iguodala’s situation with the Memphis Grizzlies. The 2015 Finals MVP is set to make $17,185,185 next season. The Grizzlies are reportedly looking for a late first-round pick in return for Iguodala, who would be a great addition to the Rockets if Houston was somehow able to acquire him.
