RUMOR: James Harden trade discussed between Nets, Rockets

NBA, James Harden, Nets, Rockets, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving

The Brooklyn Nets have reportedly contacted the Houston Rockets about a James Harden trade, per Farbod Esnaashari of Sports Illustrated.

Esnaashari is reporting that Harden could possibly get traded to the Nets for Spencer Dinwiddie, Caris LeVert, Taurean Prince and Jarrett Allen.

Rockets point guard Russell Westbrook has requested a trade from Clutch City. While James Harden has yet to demand a trade, he reportedly has concerns about the future of the franchise.

Harden and Kevin Durant are very close friends and played together on the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Beard and Kyrie Irving also have a close relationship.

In 2019-20, Harden averaged 34.3 points, 6.6 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game for the Rockets. He led the NBA in scoring for the third consecutive season, all while shooting 44.4 percent from the field, 35.5 percent from beyond the arc and 86.5 percent from the free-throw line.

Harden is undoubtedly one of the best scorers in NBA history. If the Nets are able to acquire the 2018 MVP and pair him alongside Durant and Irving, Brooklyn may coast to the title next season, which will begin on Dec. 22.

In the summer of 2017, Harden signed a four-year, $171 million contract extension with the Rockets. He’s set to make $41,254,920 in 2020-21, $44,310,840 in 2021-22 and has a player option worth $47,366,760 for the 2022-23 campaign.

The entire NBA world is waiting to see what happens with Harden and Westbrook, as they remain two of the best players in the league.
