Rockets’ Victor Oladipo limps off with sore right foot vs Heat

Victor Oladipo, Rockets, Heat

Rockets guard Victor Oladipo was seen limping off the floor in the third quarter versus the Miami Heat. After suffering through the sore right foot, Oladipo was ruled for the rest of the night’s matchup, leaving Houston without one of their starters for the fourth quarter.

Before the injury, Oladipo was struggling to get in a rhythm offensively for the Rockets on Thursday. He left the game with six points on the evening, hoping for a possible change in the fourth quarter. It may have not been the best night shooting-wise, but Oladipo continued to impact the game by rebounding and defending.

Oladipo has been putting up good numbers in his 10 games played with the Rockets. Since being acquired in early January, he shows to be a great compliment next to John Wall in the backcourt. Oladipo seems to have embraced his role respectively and looks to help Houston improve as a collective going forward.

The Rockets have already hit the injury bug early this season. One of their star players, Christian Wood, is expected to miss a significant amount of time due to an ankle injury. The team has certainly missed his presence on the floor with his size and agility. The Rockets’ staff can only hope that Oladipo’s injury isn’t significant. The dynamic of the team could change during Oladipo’s possible absence.

The Rockets had a strong start to the first half but started the second half on a bad note. As Oladipo is now sidelined, the team will have to close this game without him. As Oladipo brings so much energy to the rotation, playing without him is a tough task for Houston.
