Rockets to unveil 3 new jerseys to season ticket holders
Before making it to the NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors faced off against their Western Conference Finals foe from the year prior, the Houston Rockets, in the second round.
Though the Warriors were clobbered by injuries, the Big 4 of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala were all healthy and playing some of their best basketball of the season, leading to a demure six-game exit for the Rockets out of the Playoffs.
Sorry to dredge up old memories, Rockets fans, but the scene had to be set for the news regarding new jersey designs for the Rockets that will be unveiled on the night of the 2019 NBA Draft.
The Rockets are without a first or second round draft pick, but according to news from Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle, a special event will take place for season ticket holders on draft night in which the jerseys will be unveiled:
The Rockets will unveil three new uniforms to season ticket holders in a draft-night event this month. Two bring significant changes to the red and white primary uniforms; the third is a special, one-season addition. Last season’s black uniforms will return.

As you can see, these are not minor cosmetic changes that the Rockets are rolling out but rather big-time alterations to the team’s main kits – including the instantly recognizable red and white uniforms.
Feigen also confirms that the black uniforms from 2018-19 will return as well as a special one-off uniform for the 2019-20 season. Could it be a throwback uni to a bygone era? Or perhaps a new look for the new season?
Only time will tell, but the Rockets will look different on the court with new uniforms – and potentially new players, if trade rumors can be believed.
